Yamaha DX7 FM synthesis-based digital synthesizer and electronic keyboard manufactured by the Yamaha Corporation from 1983 to 1989.
• FM8 is a user friendly yet very powerful frequency modulation synthesizer that integrates over 960 presets, an intuitive graphical user interface featuring an FM matrix, and a formidable audio engine for rendering high quality sounds.

Haven&'t explored this much yet, but looks and sounds good so far in Cubase essentials 5. I had original dx7 hardware, which went faulty, then I bought fm8 for my main computer. This free option will bring dx7 sounds to my wifes laptop which she thankfully lets me use when I'm on the move and wanting to create music.
