When I took the timing belt off, I accidentally turned the various pulleys in relation too each other a bit, (not significantly though) when I was taking the belt off (I forgot to turn the pulleys to line up the timing marks, so I had to re-tension the belt to turn them all together), I have turned the pulleys all back to where they should be.

Jul 20, 2014 This post gave me what I needed to solve a timing problem on a David Brown 950 tractor with a CAV pump. The pump was swapped out for what I was told was the original, which I had overhauled. Unfortunately there was no timing mark scribed on the engine, and it has never run really well since I changed the pump. Fuel Injection Pump, Rotary (005-014) Electrical Shutoff Valves: Interim High-Mobility Engineer Excavator Nsn 2420-66-148-7692. There's a round timing gear cover plate on front of engine, remove that cover plate to access timing gear retainer bolt #24 and remove bolt. At this point, note which hole in timing gear that dowel pin #23 is located in, mark that hole position with paint stick or something similar.Remove all fuel line connections. I am questioning whether the pump is sticking in the automatic advanced mode, or whether it is generally too far advanced (but only firing early when hot)
At present it is on the factory timing marks. The engine is a Watermota Seapanther 33 yrs old.
Any ideas?

I have done:
Rechecked timing gears and marks.
Bled the fuel lines.
Replaced the fuel lines.
Ordered a seal kit for the pump.
